Cabañas Rio Yambala lie 3km's east of Vilcabamba, in the foothills of the Podocarpus National park.

Getting to LOJA

  1. By Air - Loja is served by Catamayo airport, 35km's to the east of Loja.
    • See www.tame.com.ec for flight itineries & reservations.
    • collective taxis run from the airport to Loja ($5pp).
      They will leave you at your destination in Loja , OR take you on to Vilcabamba ($25) and the Cabañas ($28).
  2. By Bus - Loja is serviced by frequent buses from the major cities, arriving at Loja's bus terminal. From there you can take a bus to Vilcabamba.

From LOJA to VILCABAMBA

  1. Buses (Vilcabambaturis / Sur Oriente / Union Cariamanga) leave regularly from Loja's bus terminal.(Terminal Terrestre)
  2. Co-op 11 de Mayo run regular collective taxi's to Vilcabamba. (If you are coming from the airport the taxi can leave you there, otherwise grab a city taxi to their depot).

From VILCABAMBA to CABAÑAS RIO YAMBALA

  • Take a white pick-up truck (Vilcabamba's Taxi service) They can be found at the bus terminal or main square. Just ask them to take you to Cabañas Rio Yambala ($3)
